Words of Support from EDYN’s Friends

Madeleine Albright (1937–2022),
Chair of the National Democratic Institute
Lately my favorite quote from Robert Frost is “the older I get, the younger are my teachers.” There are hundreds of teachers in the European Democracy Youth Network, and I look forward to continuing to learn from them and be inspired by them in the months and years ahead.
Karel Schwarzenberg (1937 - 2023),
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic
During normal times, we all enjoy the competition between political parties. In the moment of immediate danger, we have to protect our common values together. EDYN is necessary to unite different political views on democracy. Cooperating with a bipartisan US initiative is of enormous help.
Zuzana Čaputová,
President of the Slovak Republic
Your work is an excellent example of cooperation between the United States and Europe. We need more such cooperation because democracy cannot be put on autopilot. It is a process that needs care and attention. And above all, it needs active citizens ready to take action. You are the co-pilots, so join in, stay true to your values, and never give up. Only then things can change for the better. This is what motivated me to enter politics too.
Maia Sandu,
President of the Republic of Moldova
The young generation is the generation that can change the world and build a better future for everyone: a more just, digital, green and democratic one. I admire EDYN members' commitment and I encourage you to continue to take bold actions and share your ideas with the world. Our countries can only benefit from your determination and input.
Senator Dan Sullivan,
Chair of the International Republican Institute
Know you will always have the support of committed partners in the U.S. who share your vision of Europe that is whole, free and at peace.
